My goal is to help children/young adults learn to trust themselves and deal with whatever pain or grief they are experiencing by learning to trust and open their hearts to a horse.  A horse is more than just an animal. A horse is more than just a pet. A horse is a partner, somebody to lean on, to open up to, and to express how you’re feeling and they listen.  Why do I believe in this? Because I have first hand experienced it.

How? I was a young teenager lost in this big scary world. Lost and alone even though I had many people around me who loved and cared for me, I still felt alone… taking me away from this world seemed like the best option but, I met a horse instead. This horse not only saved my life, he changed my life. Horses have a special gift a healing gift. They have a heart and soul to heal any broken heart. I may not be a “professional” but you don’t need a piece of paper to know that horses are a gift, a gift that I cherish every day and will continue to do so until I physically can not anymore. I want to help kids/young adults understand that they can have a second chance that it is possible to trust and be trusted again. Horses are special and believe it or not they are a lot like us. Feeling scared and frightened because of something traumatic that happened? Horses experience the same feeling when something traumatic happens to them. I see it all the time is ends in fighting the horse and beating it until you get the type of authority you want… that is not a partnership and there is no trust. You want a bond, a partnership. Trust.

My plan on how I would prove this to you? It’s not proving anything it’s simply showing you the truth by helping you learn the basics of trusting a horse and all that comes with it. If I can help even one just one human being trust themselves again I will feel accomplished.

We rescue horses who need us, who have been failed by their previous owner or just simply can’t be taken care of by them anymore and give them a second chance. Some of them come to us scared and afraid some come starved and neglected… We trust these animals and we give them a chance to trust us again too.

Step 1: introducing you to a horse and share their story with you.

Step 2: learn how to care for properly and take care of a horse.

Step 3: bond with and learn to trust a horse and in return, trust yourself.
